This is a handmade guitar by the luthier family of Valencia Spain. Their shop is downtown Valencia and they have three generations of luthiers in the family working there. The guitar is a Taymar model Guitarras De Concerto. This is a high end Spanish guitar. Made with a solid Cedar Top, solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Brazilian Rosewood bridge, Ebony fingerboard and high end gold tone Grover tuners. It comes with a very nice hardshell case that locks (see keys in picture).

The reason I know as much about these guitars is because as a high school kid I spent most of the summer in Spain and in particularly in a small town right on the Mediterranean Sea called Benicassim ,on a family vacation. Valencia was a ten minute bus ride inland. That is where we did all of our shopping. While shopping one day my brother and I found this little guitar shop, Taymar's. I had to go in because in the storefront windows were many hand built guitars for sale. I had started playing guitar a couple of years earlier, but my folk guitar was back home in the states. I had never had a classical guitar, but Peter, Paul and Mary's Paul Stookey played one and I loved the way it sounded. Well after bugging the shop for over a week my dad fronted me the money to buy one. It was a Brazilian Rosewood guitar as well. A few years later my Taymar was involved in an accident at the college I was attending. We called it a party. It took me years to find another Taymar and this is it.

I have mixed emotions about selling it.

On a different subject, if you ever get a chance to visit Spain try Benicassim. From Valencia to Barcelona is a stretch of shoreline known as the Costa Brava or aka "The Spanish Riviera". Valencia to Barcelona is 90 miles on the coast highway. And if you play golf, there is a great course right next to Sea. When I played it, it was managed by the famous Pro Golfer, Sergio Garcia's father!!

Thanks for enduring my memories of days gone by.
